Gazair
In the early 1900’s, Gazair Saghatelian set out from his troubled homeland on a journey of freedom.  He and his family immigrated to the United States desiring to bake his wonderful Armenian breads in peace.  Gazair set up shop next door to his new home on M Street and Santa Clara in the heart of downtown Fresno, and in 1922, California Baking Company was born.
Today, the company is known as Valley Lahvosh Baking Company and is no longer just a corner bakery; it occupies the entire block.
